    Good day, PPA Members! I hope you are doing well. I'm excited to announce that the presidential transition between Tony Carobine and me is almost complete. Thank you all for your patience during this transition period.

    Briscoe elected PPA president

    Dena Briscoe, editor of the Nation's Capital Southern Maryland Area Local Dispatch is the newly elected president of the APWU National Postal Press Association (PPA). In a referendum election, ballots were sent to the PPA's 191 voting members with the return of ballots due by Tuesday, October 17. Of the 191 ballots, 107 were returned with 103 ballots deemed eligible. Briscoe garnered 45 votes while Carlos Barrios, editor of the San Antonio Alamo Area Local Dispatch and John Greathouse, editor of the Michigan Messenger each received 29 votes. Briscoe succeeds Anthony "Tony" Carobine who is retiring after serving over 36 years as PPA president. Click on the link below to view the Election Committee's Report.

    Secretary-Treasurer vacancy 

    Applications due by November 30

    Please be advised that Secretary-Treasurer Jenny Gust will be retiring once a replacement for this position is named. Therefore, in accordance with Article 9, Section 2 of the PPA Constitution, notice is hereby given of the pending vacancy.

    This position is open to all members of the PPA. Anyone requesting this position shall state their qualifications in writing to the PPA President. The President will submit all written statements with her recommendation to the full Advisory Council. The President shall appoint the applicant who receives a majority vote of the Council.

    Written statements for the Secretary-Treasurer position are to be sent to: Dena Briscoe, President, PO Box 4, Oxon Hill MD 20750. Deadline for receipt of statements is November 30, 2023.
